busy,busy!
Today was my third day of work at Resort World Sentosa!
It was...slack hahas. Its like heaven and hell when compared to wednesday.
Ok, backtrack!
Wednesday was super freaking mega busy and tiring. We checked in at 8am at Fiesta buffet restaurant and got straight down to work, with crowds after crowds of people streaming in. Being new there, it was quite overwhelming but i guess things got better after i started gaining more knowledge like how to set the tables and where are all the stuff placed etc. But still, endless clearing of plates, tables, and constant requests of refill for beverages...oh the horrors. But anyway, really gotta learn how to handle entire trays of soiled utensils/plates by holding them overhead using one hand. Cant seem to muster the courage to try cause afraid that everything will tumble down >.<
BUT I WILL DO IT VERY SOON :)
Oh btw, although i wasn't very confident at the start the people there were super nice :) The person i was attached to was a korean haha and he was super nice lol. It kind of made everything more pleasant :)
After our shift ended one of the employees(Sorry i didnt ask the name >.<) guided us how to tap in and tap out to record our working hours and also how to obtain our food from the cafe! Basically you just have to tap in to register that you took a meal in front of the security guard and then proceed to take your fooddddd.
Can mix and match any of the 3 main course of the day!
On that day i ate prata with chicken, veg and western potato soup.
Today's menu was much yummier, with burger, macaroni, vege and black pepper hot dogs!
To end off wednesday, after eating together at a long table with our co-workers, we met a few of them again on the bus to harbourfront mrt and chatted abit along the way.
In contrast, today, which is a thursday, was super slack. It was quite funny at the start LOL.
We met with A and J to take a special attire today(which is apparently the MICE attire) then we hastily went to the MBS conference room for the briefing after changing but when we went in all the others were in home attire and so we were like =.= But they allowed us to change out so...LOL
There were ALOT of people at the briefing. Like really, ALOT. Think they mentioned theres 500 people.
Anyway, apparently the 31st event is a countdown party for the casino's guests(gosh all the mega rich people). So we had to undergo a super detailed briefing on the procedures and had to memorise the names of the dishes and beverages. The banquet food is prepared by chef Sam Leong and celebrity Adrian Pang is one of the hosts whoaaaaa.
So basically yupps, today was only briefing after briefing.... Oh wells, better than working so whose complaining? :) LOL in between there was so much spare time while waiting so we were all playing iphones/ipods HAHAHA. The entire briefing ended when we took a tour of the actual banquet hall area.
Oh btw, most of the others were employed just for the event(i think). Half of them was from TCC(Not sure if is the cafe TCC) while the others were under MBS. The manager who briefed us was rather entertaining lol he can be emcee eh hahaa. I think we were one of the few people actually working part-time/casual in RWS apart from the permanent stuff.
After it all ended the guys, namely me, J and J went to the canteen to eat :) Then we boarded the employee shuttle bus back to harbourfront. Btw, the shuttle bus frequency is unbelievably high. Its like within minutes another bus appears which is like hell lot faster than SBS! Btw, i stupidly went to tap my card WTF. I probably wasn't thinking straight LOL it was like an automatic response then i think they deducted money :(
ZZZZ LA WTH. But at the same time the tapping machines supposed to be locked one lorh wtf =.=
Sian sia. i think not cheap leh. Like maybe 1 buck plus to 2 bucks? =.= SIGHS.
All in all, i'm pretty sure this job is going to get more tiring and hectic. To be honest the pay and benefits are much much more than all my previous jobs but at the same time so is the stress levels. The posh environment simply induces a rather stressful environment where people don't give time for you to slowly adapt and expect you to know everything. So its really a super big eye-opener to work in one of the biggest businesses in singapore. Theres just so much more i need to learn. Everyday i'm impressed by new things and new people through the way they work. Everything in RWS is just so...wow. Hahas. Or maybe is i suaku >.<
Ok time to rest! Hopefully i get tips on 31st hahaha.
Tomorrow off day! But i need search for business leather shoes for work hmmmm...
